MEET NANNY KATE
You care (obviously).
We care (exceptionally).
After the birth of my own daughter, I realized on a personal, maternal level that choosing a nanny far exceeds “picking” someone that meets the needs of your family.
You need a consultant, an expert and a mom who understands that choosing someone to care for your child is probably one of the most stressful experiences of parenthood. I have worked with hundreds of families as a nanny and consultant, which has given me the opportunity to experience and understand the needs and expectations of families.
If you’re looking for a full-time nanny in the Greater Boston area, be assured that you’ll be working directly with me and my team to find a match.

What happens if the nanny we choose ends up not being a good fit for our family?
If for any reason you or the nanny decide that the job placement is not a good fit, we offer a 90-day, no cost childcare replacement guarantee. After 90 days, we offer a prorated fee based on how long the nanny has worked with your family. Please know that returning families will always get a discount for future placements.
I've paid my nannies "under the table" before. What are tax implications for using an agency?
We encourage each family to pay their nanny legally and withhold the necessary federal and state taxes. We partner with HomePay by Breedlove to provide our clients with the most accurate and up-to-date information to make the payment process as easy and seamless as possible.
I want to offer my nanny vacation time as a benefit. How do I decide paid vs. unpaid time, and how do I determine the number of weeks I should offer?
Paid and unpaid vacation time is a fantastic benefit to offer your nanny. If you decide to offer vacation time, typically families with a full time nanny will offer a 40 hour per week vacation period. Part time nannies can expect the hours per vacation week to be comparable to the number of hours they work per week (i.e. a nanny works 21 hours per week, they may be offered 21 hour per week vacation period).
The number of weeks and the option to be paid or unpaid varies with each family. Typically families will offer two weeks of paid vacation per year.
We own a small business and we would like to pay our nanny though our business. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, that is not considered a legal way to pay your nanny because the nanny is not directly contributing to the success of the business.
Do I have to pay taxes when I hire a nanny?
You are required to pay all necessary state and federal taxes for a babysitter or nanny whom you pay more than $2,100 per calendar year.
The Nanny FAQs
How much does it cost to work with Nanny Kate & Co.?
As a nanny? Absolutely nothing. We work with families who pay a fee for us to help them recruit, interview and screen nannies throughout Massachusetts. But as a nanny, you pay nothing. In fact, you’re more likely to find a job through us because we take the time to place nannies with families that we know will be a great match. Sounds amazing, right?
How can I apply for a job?
All of our jobs are listed on our website under Career Opportunities. But we offer first dibs to our private Facebook group (make sure you request to join!)
To apply, first visit our Nanny Requirements page. Here you’ll be asked if you’re ready to apply for a specific job, if you’ve filled out an application before or if you want to send us a note about a particular career.
Please know that we sometimes receive hundreds of applications for each job. You’re welcome to send us a note via Facebook; however, nannies will only be considered for a job if they go through our Application process. (Thanks for understanding!)
